Zoonotic Diseases

BioOne VISTA | April 2024

Zoonotic disease poses significant public health challenges; in 2019 a report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that 6 in 10 infectious diseases in people can be spread from animals and the majority of emerging infectious diseases in people come from animals. With more complete knowledge of zoonosis, scientists and health officials can safeguard public health and biodiversity, mitigate the risks posed to both human and animal populations, and prevent future outbreaks.

This article collection proudly features peer-reviewed scientific research from BioOne Complete publishing partners, including Avian Diseases, Journal of Avian Medicine and Surgery, Journal of Vertebrate Biology, Journal of Wildlife Diseases, Journal of Vector Ecology, Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine, and more.
