Aloe maculata All. (Asphodelaceae subfam. Alooideae) is reported for the first time as naturalised in Algeria. This also represents the first record of this species for continental North Africa. Aloe maculata was found to have escaped from cultivation in the Skikda region in northeastern Algeria where this species has become established in three locations. Detailed information on the habitats colonised is presented. The reproductive modes and the extent of naturalisation of the species are recorded.

Aloe maculata All. (Asphodelaceae subfam. Alooideae) wird erstmals als in Algerien eingebürgert gemeldet. Dies ist auch der erste Nachweis dieser Art für das nordafrikanische Festland. Es wurde festgestellt, dass Aloe maculata aus Kultur in der Region Skikda im Nordosten Algeriens entwichen ist und sich dort an drei Stellen etabliert hat.
