The morphology of 49 Bulbine species is illustrated including the tubers and leaves. Selected examples of the flowers, tepals, stamens and finally the external surfaces of the bizarre seeds are illustrated. Sizes are given for all illustrations. Some of the more interesting plants are illustrated by colour photographs.

Dioon planifolium Salas-Mor. Chemnick & T.J.Greg. is described from northwestern Oaxaca, Mexico. This cycad, which grows in a dry habitat rich in cactus and succulents, is the first to be found in the Mixteca region of Mexico.
