Liu, P., 2020. Marine ecological construction and economic coordination in Beibu Gulf City Cluster of China. In: Wan, Z. (ed.), Coordinated Sustainable Development in Coastal Areas: Environment and Economy. Journal of Coastal Research, Special Issue No. 109, pp. 19–26. Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.

This paper selects eight cities to analyze the coordinated relationship between economic development and the marine environment in Beibu Gulf through the coupling analysis method, evaluates the coordinated development level of Beibu Gulf region, and proposes corresponding policies and paths for the coordinated development of marine economy and marine environment in this region. It is found that the score coefficient of Nanning's coupling coordination degree is the highest, which means its coordination degree between the ecological environment and economy is the best among 8 cities. Industrial restructuring, government management and awareness raising are important sustainable development paths.
