Abstract

Gerrity, Brian and Phillips, Michael, 2024. Comparative analysis of coastal vulnerability indexes in different geographic settings In: Phillips, M.R.; Al-Naemi, S., and Duarte, C.M. (eds.), Coastlines under Global Change: Proceedings from the International Coastal Symposium (ICS) 2024 (Doha, Qatar). Journal of Coastal Research, Special Issue No. 113, pp. 11-15. Charlotte (North Carolina), ISSN 0749-0208.

This study presents a comprehensive comparative analysis of the Coastal Vulnerability Index (CVI) assessments for three distinct coastal regions: San Francisco Bay in the United States, Swansea Bay in the United Kingdom, and Doha Bay in Qatar. The CVI is crucial for evaluating coastal areas susceptibility to environmental stressors such as sea level rise, storm surges, and anthropogenic activities.
