A revision of Plectocynipinae was initiated following the recent collections of specimens of Plectocynips Diaz and Araucocynips, new genus, from Chile. In addition to a redescription of the subfamily, we provide redescriptions, based on females, of the species of both genera. Descriptions are provided for Araucocynips ariasae, new species, Araucocynips queulensis, new species, and Plectocynips lago, new species, all from Chile. New host records are provided for Plectocynips pilosus Ros-Farré from galls of Aditrochus fagicolus Rübsaamen and Aditrochus coihuensis Ovruski (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) on Nothofagus pumilio (Poepp. & Endl.) Krasser and Nothofagus dombeyi (Mirb.), respectively. In addition, males are described for Araucocynips ariasae, Araucocynips queulensis, and Plectocynips pilosus.

Calamoncosis carncrossi Nartshuk, new species, is described and illustrated from the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge Complex in the Finger Lakes region of central New York. Larvae and puparia of C. carncrossi were discovered in Phragmites australis americanus, a North American native subspecies of the European wetland grass Phragmites australis. Characters of the adult, larva, and pupariun of C. carncrossi are differentiated from those of C. aprica, a closely related Palearctic species. This new species also represents the first Nearctic record of a described species of the largely Palearctic genus Calamoncosis.

We fix and describe the neotype of the cotton aphid, Aphis gossypii Glover, and publish its DNA barcode.

The first North American record for Fulvius subnitens Poppius is reported based on one specimen collected in southcentral Virginia. Fulvius anthocoroides (Reuter), Fulvius imbecilis (Say), Fulvius slateri Wheeler, and Fulvius subnitens are diagnosed and described, and color images of adults, updated distributions, a review of feeding habits, and an identification key are provided. For each species, the nomenclatural history and most important citations are given.

The genus Placopterus Wolcott, comprised of Placopterus plumbeus (Gorham), Placopterus rufipes (Schenkling), and Placopterus thoracicus (Olivier), is revised. Enoclerus thoracicus var. pallipes Wolcott and Clerus thoracicus subcostatus Schaeffer are relegated junior synonyms of P. thoracicus. Placopterus is considered the sister taxon of Perilypus, and P. plumbeus and P. rufipes are assessed sister species. Placopterus thoracicus is considered the most morphologically apomorphic of the genus. Lectotypes are designated for Poecilochroa plumbea Gorham, P. rufipes, and Clerus thoracicus Olivier

This is the first in a series of papers on the Lecithoceridae (Lepidoptera, Gelechioidea) of New Guinea. Onnuria Park, n. gen. is proposed to accommodate three new species: Onnuria xanthochroa Park, n. sp., Onnuria melanotoma Park, n. sp., and Onnuria tenuiella Park, n. sp. The new genus shares with Pectinimura Park, 2008 and Neopectinimura Park, 2010 a similar specialized comblike plate on the valva in the male genitalia. It is differentiated from the aforementioned genera by the unique shape of the labial palpus with a very stout, strongly recurved 3^rd segment and highly specialized hind wing venation with M₃ and CuA₁ coincident and CuA₂ arising from before the middle of the cell. A key to the species of the genus is given. Adults, heads, labial palpi, hind wing venation, and male genitalia are illustrated.

Five weevil species reared or collected from Amaryllidaceae in the New World are compared with morphologically similar weevils, mostly found on orchids. Based on preliminary analyses of external and some internal characters, they are referred to Stethobaris LeConte and described as Stethobaris cerpheroides Prena and O'Brien, new species; Stethobaris hybrisPrena and O'Brien, new species;Stethobaris nemesis Prena and O'Brien, new species; Stethobaris sprekeliae Prena and O'Brien, new species and Stethobaris ultimaPrena and O'Brien, new species. Central Mexico is their likely origin, but nearly all available specimens have been found elsewhere associated with plants traded among growers. Stethobaris nemesis is adventive in the southeastern United States (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas) and Barbados, Lesser Antilles. Cerpheres rufescens Champion is transferred to Stethobaris (new combination), and a lectotype is designated for this species. Cerpheres glabrescens Champion and Ovanius conicollis Casey are recorded newly for Colombia, South America.

During an ongoing study of Herpetogramma Lederer (Spilomelinae), four species, three from the Western Hemisphere and one from Japan, were discovered to be misplaced in the genus and the subfamily. Based on primary type material, the following new and revised combinations and transfers to the Pyraustinae are proposed: the male syntype of Pachyzancla nigripalpis Hampson is designated as the lectotype and is transferred to Pyrausta, and the female syntype of P. nigripalpis is transferred to Hahncappsia as a species of uncertain identity but closest to H. jaliscalis Capps. Pachyzancla straminea Hampson and Pachyzancla holochrysis Hampson are transferred to Pyrausta; Herpetogramma albipennis Inoue is transferred to Aglaops Warren. The adults, genitalia, and labels are illustrated for the first time.

Collection records from plants of several families have been reported for the rhopalids Arhyssus confusus Chopra and Arhyssus parvicornis (Signoret), but the hosts they use for nymphal development have remained unknown. During fieldwork in the southwestern United States from 2003 to 2009, mating pairs and nymphs of both rhopalids were found on globemallow, Sphaeralcea species (Malvaceae). Arhyssus confusus was collected at 37 sites from eight species of Sphaeralcea (Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Utah), and A. parvicornis was collected at 18 sites from seven species of globemallow (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas). Although both Arhyssus species might develop on other malvaceous genera or even on plants of other families, evidence based on extensive field collections suggests they are Sphaeralcea specialists. Notes on seasonal history and photographs of the adult dorsal habitus of the rhopalids are provided.

Four Holarctic mirids—Cyrtorhinus caricis (Fallén) (Orthotylinae), Teratocoris caricis Kirkaldy (Mirinae), Tytthus pubescens (Knight), and Tytthus pygmaeus (Zetterstedt) (Phylinae)—are associated with Northwest Territory sedge, Carex utriculata, in Valles Caldera National Preserve in north-central New Mexico. Records of these plant bugs are the first for New Mexico and southernmost in the United States. The species are univoltine and overwinter as eggs, with those of C. caricis and Teratocoris caricis hatching in early to mid-May; eggs of the delphacid predators Tytthus pubescens and T. pygmaeus might hatch later. A syntopic delphacid, Nothodelphax venusta (Beamer), probably serves as prey of Tytthus species, as well as C. caricis, a facultative predator of Delphacidae. The four Holarctic mirids are considered relictual in the Jemez Mountains (Southern Rocky Mountains Ecoregion) rather than post-Pleistocene colonists. Color photographs of the adult dorsal habitus of a male and female of C. caricis, Teratocoris caricis, and Tytthus pubescens are included.
