The International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature has used its plenary power to remove the homonymy between the family-group names Acalyptini Thomson, 1859 (type genus Acalyptus Schöenherr, 1833) (Hexapoda, Coleoptera, Curculionidae) and Acalyptini Blatchley, 1926 (type genus Acalypta Westwood, 1840) (Hexapoda, Heteroptera, Tingidae). The stem of the genus-group name Acalypta Westwood, 1840 has been emended to Acalypta-, thereby making the family-group name Acalyptaini Blatchley, 1926 (Heteroptera), while the family-group name Acalyptini Thomson, 1859 (Coleoptera), based on Acalyptus Schöenherr, 1833, remains unchanged.
