Abstract

We recorded the spiny rat louse, Polyplax spinulosa Burmeister, 1839 (Psocodea: Polyplacidae), for the first time for the state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The louse was found on a wild brown rat, Rattus norvegicus Berkenhout, 1769 (Rodentia: Muridae).

Reportamos al piojo espinoso de las ratas, Polyplax spinulosa Burmeister, 1839 (Psocodea: Polyplacidae), por primera vez para el estado de Nuevo León, México. El piojo fué encontrado sobre una rata marron asilvestrada, Rattus norvegicus Berkenhout, 1769 (Rodentia: Muridae).
